Damian Murdoch

I was once firmly in the grip of anxiety.
Panic attacks on a daily basis. A struggle to leave the house.
It was a confusing time. It was a lost and scary time. At times it was fucking torture!
It was a time I nearly didn’t make it through, and I understand why many don’t.
I’m now grateful every day that I did make it through. I can see what a shame it would’ve been if I’d given up, because my life is brilliant now.

• I made it through due to an acquired curiosity about what was going on inside my mind and body to give me these crazy symptoms on a daily basis.
• I made it through due to the amazing mentors that I stumbled across, many of whom would be considered outside the mainstream, but who’s tools and techniques make so much sense once you understand how they work on the mind and body.
• And I made it through due to my support network – old friends and new friends I made along the way, who were also dealing with issues or on a quest for constant improvement or change in their lives.

What really drew me in was this was being delivered by someone who had experienced anxiety and panic attacks. Someone who had come through it on the other side and knew what I was going through, what I was feeling. Not someone who had just studied for a few years and told me I just need to breathe.

I joined Doc’s program because of the panic attacks I was experiencing and to deal with my general anxiety. My partner had started the program. He said Doc was amazing and I could see the difference. He didn’t have to talk about it, sometimes actions mean more than words. I was inspired to do the same.

I learnt a lot of good tips and tools to deal with anxiety and I’m using them every day. I was getting triggered every day on the way to work. I haven’t had any panic attacks since.
This has helped me professionally and socially. I’m so much better in everyday life, and at work there’s been a massive difference.
